X013_ g <br />LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />RESOLUTION ADOPTING AD VALOREM METHOD OF SALES TAX <br />DISTRIBUTION FOR <br />FISCAL YEAR 2013 -14 <br />WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statute §105- 472(a) states that the Secretary for the <br />North Carolina Department of Revenue ( "Secretary") shall divide the amount allocated to each <br />taxing county among the county and its municipalities in accordance with the method <br />determined by the county; and, <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to G.S. §105- 472(b), the Board of Commissioners must determine <br />whether to use a Per Capita or Ad Valorem method of sales tax distribution and must adopt <br />such method by formal resolution during the month of April; and, <br />WHEREAS, Lee County has in previous years adopted the Per Capita method of sales tax <br />distribution; and <br />WHEREAS, Lee County has determined, pursuant to G.S. § 105- 472(b), that it will adopt the <br />Ad Valorem method of sales tax distribution for the 2013 -14 fiscal year. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Lee County Board of Commissioners does <br />hereby adopt the Ad Valorem sales tax distribution method on this the 15 day of April 2013, to <br />be effective the 1 day of July 2013. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Lee County Board of Commissioners hereby directs <br />the Clerk to the Board to file a certified copy of this resolution with the Secretary of the North <br />Carolina Department of Revenue within fifteen days of its adoption. <br />Adopted this 15 day of April 2013. <br />Q (, <br />0 p6v� <br />ATTEST: Charles T.
