BRITT <br /> REGISTER OF DEEDS <br /> FILED Sep 22, 2022 <br /> AT 02:14:14 pm <br /> BOOK 00003 <br /> START PAGE 0873 <br /> END PAGE 0873 <br /> INSTRUMENT # 07246 <br /> EXCISE TAX (None) <br /> RESOLUTION AWARDING THE SERVICE SIDE ARM OF SERGEANT VAN HOLLY <br /> OF THE LEE COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT UPON HIS RETIREMENT <br /> WHEREAS, Sergeant Van Holly will retire effective September 1, 2022 from the Lee County <br /> Sheriffs Department; and <br /> WHEREAS, Lee County Sheriff Brian Estes has requested to present Sergeant Van Holly with <br /> his service side arm as part of his reward of service in law enforcement in recognition of a job <br /> well done in the protection and service to the communities of Lee County for 10 years; and <br /> WHEREAS, N.C.G.S. § 20-187.2 allows the Lee County Board of Commissioners, in their <br /> discretion, to award a retiring member of the Lee County Sheriffs Department with their service <br /> side arm: and <br /> WHEREAS, Sergeant Van Holly is eligible to own, possess or receive a firearm under the <br /> provisions of State and/or federal law; and <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lee County Board of Commissioners that <br /> Sergeant Van Holly is hereby awarded his service side arm, a Sig Sauer P320 9mm, serial <br /> number 58A 162049, for his 10 years of honorable service in protecting and serving the <br /> communities of Lee County. <br /> Adopted this 8`h day of August, 2022. <br /> i <br /> Air .ZSmith, i / <br /> Lee County Board of Commissioners <br /> TTEST: <br /> Je if r Ga le.
