BRITT <br /> REGISTER OF DEEDS <br /> FILED Sep 22, 2022 <br /> AT 02:08:55 pm <br /> BOOK 00003 <br /> START PAGE 0869 <br /> END PAGE 0869 <br /> INSTRUMENT # 07243 <br /> EXCISE TAX (None) <br /> PROCLAMATION RECOGNIZING GRACE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL'S <br /> WOMEN'S SOCCER TEAM <br /> WHEREAS,Grace Christian School's women's soccer team,the Crusaders, exhibited hard work,dedication, and exceptional <br /> talent in the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association (NCISAA)championship; and, <br /> WHEREAS,Grace Christian School's Women's Soccer Team won the 2022 NCISAA Women's State Soccer Championship on <br /> May 21,2022 against the Greenfield School,the defending State Champions,which was not without trials and tests of <br /> strength; and, <br /> WHEREAS,the Lady Crusaders after holding an initial lead of 1-0 at halftime,gave up two goals to Greenfield, while <br /> enduring exhausting heat and losing two key starters to injuries, but dug deep and with a corner kick resulting in the tying <br /> goal(2-2) by Junior Emma McNeill and another from Zahra Fepessi, who took aim from 30 yards out and delivered a shot in <br /> the top left corner of the goal to give the Crusaders a 3-2 lead while Goalkeeper Landry Hicks made five saves in the <br /> remaining seven minutes to seal the win and bring the State Championship win to Lee County;and, <br /> WHEREAS,under the leadership and guidance of Head Coach and Coach of the Year Nathaniel Rhine, as well as Assistant <br /> Coaches Tayler Bartlett, Dani Blackwell,Alan Schlitz and Jon Watters,the team was able to finish the season with a 21-5-1 <br /> overall record,including a perfect 8-0 record in conference play, and finished the season on a 17-game winning streak; and, <br /> WHEREAS,the Lee County Board of Commissioners recognizes the Crusaders Women's Soccer Team members Karli Bullard, <br /> Katie Beth Hare,Sydney Edwards, Hagan Pisano,Alex Daly, Meara Hoffman,Alexa Mikesell,Sydney Damude, McKensie <br /> Boyte, Lillian Schmitt,Olivia Martin, Claire Edwards, Lara Leickfeld,Jidi Plum, Ryleigh Fetzer, Madi Mibb,and Lily Fuller for <br /> the accomplishments they demonstrated throughout the season and for their commitment, perseverance and love of the <br /> sport of soccer; and, <br /> WHEREAS,the Lee County Board of Commissioners would additionally like to recognize the Crusaders who also were <br /> selected to the All-State Team,including Emma McNeill, Emma Grace Dubuc,Abby McNeill,Zahra Fepessi, Kayden Michael, <br /> Aubrey Roy,and Goalkeeper Landry Hicks for their endurance in defending the net and securing the game-winning goal in <br /> the second half;and, <br /> WHEREAS,the Crusaders Women's Soccer Team represented Lee County admirably in the NCISAA Women's State Soccer <br /> Championship to close out a remarkable 2022 soccer season. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED,that the Lee County Board of Commissioners proclaim Tuesday,July 121h, 2022 as <br /> Grace Christian School Crusaders Women's Soccer Team Day in Lee County, North Carolina and call upon residents to <br /> observe this day recognizing and celebrating the Team and their contributions to and successes shared with the Lee County <br /> community. <br /> Dated this the 111h day of July,2022 <br /> h L od>fr PB Commissioners <br /> 5)eifer <br /> ST: <br /> Ga ble/j1Clerk �tr p► ' <br />
