BRITT <br /> REGISTER OF DEEDS <br /> FILED Jul 13, 2022 <br /> AT 03:29:21 pm <br /> BOOK 00003 <br /> START PAGE 0835 <br /> END PAGE 0835 <br /> INSTRUMENT # 05437 <br /> EXCISE TAX (None) <br /> v ,OIn <br /> ' ' <br /> ;* *% <br /> r <br /> lff CARO‘, <br /> PROCLAMATION HONORING GRACE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL CRUSADERS <br /> WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM <br /> WHEREAS, the Grace Christian School women's basketball team, the Crusaders, exhibited tremendous skill, <br /> sportsmanship and outstanding team chemistry in the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association <br /> (NCISAA) championship; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Grace Christian School women's basketball team won the 2022 NCISAA Women's State <br /> Basketball Championship at Mount Olive University against six-time state champion Victory Christian School, in <br /> which after trailing by 11 points at halftime, the Crusaders played hard in the second half, winning 46-40; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Crusaders were led by ESPN Class of 2024#5 Nationally Ranked Player, Sarah Strong, with 26 <br /> points and 22 rebounds, as well as Lara Lieckfeld, who made big plays in the second half of the game, scoring 12 <br /> points; and, <br /> WHEREAS, under the leadership and guidance of Head Coach Chad Revelle and Assistant Coaches Daniel Strong <br /> and Caydee Revelle, the team dominated most of the season, finishing with an overall record of 29-1 and a <br /> perfect record in conference play; and, <br /> WHEREAS,the Lee County Board of Commissioners recognizes the Crusaders Women's Basketball Team <br /> members Janina Herisch, Ameya Brown, Kayden Michael, McKensie Boyte, Cidney Revelle and Anna <br /> Strickland for the accomplishments they demonstrated throughout the season and for their commitment, <br /> perseverance and love of the sport of basketball; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners would additionally like to recognize the Crusaders who also <br /> were selected to the All-State Team, including Danauje Brooks, Lara Lieckfeld, Miyah Campbell, Sarah Strong, <br /> Halisi Whitley and Antonia "Toni" Hughes for playing strong throughout the game and making a comeback in the <br /> second half to secure the win; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Crusaders Women's Basketball Team represented Lee County admirably in the 2022 NCISAA <br /> Women's State Basketball Championship to close out an incredible 2022 basketball season. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Lee County Board of Commissioners proclaim Wednesday, April <br /> 20th, 2022 as Grace Christian School Crusaders Women's Basketball Team Day in Lee County, North Carolina <br /> and call upon residents to observe this day recognizing and celebrating the Team and their contributions to and <br /> successes shared with the Lee County community. <br /> Dated thic tha 1 Rth rlw r,f a nAi <br />
