BRITT <br /> REGISTER OF DEEDS <br /> FILED Aug 20, 2021 <br /> AT 08:43:47 am <br /> BOOK 00003 <br /> START PAGE 0734 <br /> END PAGE 0735 <br /> cot'vjiINSTRUMENT# 06924 <br /> 4110 ' EXCISE TAX (None) <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF PROPERTY <br /> LOCATED AT WAKEFIELD DRIVE, PIN 9623-27-2100-00, LEE COUNTY, NORTH <br /> CAROLINA <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Lee owns certain vacant property located at Wakefield Drive, <br /> PIN number 9623-27-2100-00, Lee County, North Carolina, as shown on a deed recorded in <br /> Deed Book 1470, Page 683, in the office of the Register of Deeds for Lee County, to which the <br /> record thereof reference is hereby made for more complete description; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the taxable value of the property is $5,500; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the above-referenced property was conveyed to the County as the result of a <br /> foreclosure sale; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the amount of fees and taxes owed on the property as the result of such sale <br /> is $2,265.00; and, <br /> WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statutes §§ I53A-176 and 160A-269 permit the <br /> County to sell property by upset bid, after receipt of an offer to purchase the property; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Lee proposes to dispose of the above described property as it <br /> is surplus to the County's needs; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the County received an offer submitted by Jacob Glenn ("Offeror") <br /> purchase the property described above in the amount of$2,265.00, plus any advertising costs, a <br /> copy of which is attached hereto; and, <br /> WHEREAS, Offeror has paid to the County Clerk the required 5 percent (5%) deposit on <br /> its offer and $200.00 to defray advertising and administrative services; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners accepted the initial offer on June <br /> 7, 2021 and authorized staff to advertise the initial offer; and, <br /> WHEREAS, on June 30, 2021 the initial offer was advertised in The Sanford Herald, <br /> starting the 10-day upset sealed bid period; and, <br /> WHEREAS, no further upset bids were received during the 10-day upset bid period and <br /> the original offer from Jacob Glenn is the final and highest bid received. <br /> WHEREAS the i PP r.,,,,,+., n -a _r,._ _ • . _ k` <br />
