emb <br /> Ie.jr 1,C1Rll`\ <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF PROPERTY <br /> LOCATED AT 696 CHELSEA DRIVE, LOT 696 WOODMERE, PIN 9661-62-3693-00, <br /> LEE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Lee owns certain vacant property located at 696 Chelsea <br /> Drive, Lot 696 Woodmere in Carolina Trace, PIN number 9661-62-3693-00, Lee County, North <br /> Carolina, as shown on a deed recorded in Deed Book 1303, Page 334, in the office of the <br /> Register of Deeds for Lee County, to which the record thereof reference is hereby made for more <br /> complete description; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the taxable value of the property is $30,000.00; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the above-referenced property was conveyed to the County as the result of a <br /> foreclosure sale; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the amount of fees and taxes owed on the property as the result of such sale <br /> is $2,936; and, <br /> WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statutes §§ 153A-176 and 160A-269 permit the <br /> County to sell property by upset bid, after receipt of an offer to purchase the property; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Lee proposes to dispose of the above described property as it <br /> is surplus to the County's needs and as such the County previously declared the property surplus <br /> on April 15, 2019 when it accepted an offer from Wayne Langston on behalf of Coast2Coast <br /> Group LLC for the above property; and, <br /> WHEREAS, after advertising the initial offer from Coast2Coast Group LLC, the property <br /> was never sold and Mr. Langston has indicated he no longer wishes to purchase the property <br /> therefore the Board of Commissioners withdraws the acceptance of the offer from Coast2Coast <br /> Group LLC and is willing to accept new offers on the above mentioned property; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the County has received an offer submitted by Layal Sassine ("Offeror"') to <br /> purchase the property described above in the amount of$2,607.00, plus any advertising costs, a <br /> copy of which is attached hereto; and, <br /> WHEREAS, Offeror has paid to the County Clerk the required 5 percent (5%) deposit on <br /> its offer and $250.00 of advertising costs; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners accepts the offer of$2,607.00 <br /> from Layal Sassine; and, <br />
