BRITT <br /> REGISTER OF DEEDS <br /> FILED Oct 25, 2019 <br /> AT 03:16:12 pm <br /> BOOK 00003 <br /> START PAGE 0603 <br /> END PAGE 0605 <br /> INSTRUMENT# 06385 <br /> EXCISE TAX (None) <br /> LEE COUNTY <br /> Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF PROPERTY <br /> LOCATED AT WILDWOOD DRIVE PIN 9634-12-1809-00 <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Lee and the City of Sanford owns certain vacant property <br /> located on Wildwood Drive, in the Wildwood Subdivision, PIN 9634-12-1809-00, Lee County, <br /> North Carolina, as shown on a deed recorded in Deed Book 534, Page 196, in the office of the <br /> Register of Deeds for Lee County, to which the record thereof reference is hereby made for more <br /> complete description; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the taxable value of the property is $5,900.00; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the above-referenced property was conveyed to the County as the result of <br /> an assessment for a waterline extension; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the amount of fees owed on the property as the result of such sale is <br /> $1,912.49; and, <br /> WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statutes §§ 153A-176 and 160A-269 permit the <br /> County to sell property by upset bid, after receipt of an offer to purchase the property; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Lee proposes to dispose of the above described property as it <br /> is surplus to the County's needs; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the County received an offer submitted by Joseph Benjamin Lucas <br /> ("Offeror") to purchase the property described above in the amount of$1,500.00,plus any <br /> advertising costs, a copy of which is attached hereto; and, <br /> WHEREAS, Offeror has paid to the County Clerk the required 5 percent(5%) deposit on <br /> its offer and $200.00 of advertising costs; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners accepts the initial offer of <br /> $1,500.00 from Joseph Benjamin Lucas; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners authorizes staff to advertise the <br /> initial offer in any higher, upsetting offer, subject to the upset bid procedure. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lee County Board of Commissioners <br /> as follows: <br />
