BRITT <br /> REGISTER OF DEEDS <br /> FILED May 31, 2019 <br /> AT 02:17:59 pm <br /> BOOK 00003 <br /> START PAGE 0577 <br /> END PAGE 0578 <br /> INSTRUMENT # 03131 <br /> EXCISE TAX (None) <br /> .4, <br /> lr • _- <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF PROPERTY <br /> LOCATED AT 0 W FOREST OAKS DRIVE, PIN 9667-87-8477-00, LEE COUNTY <br /> NORTH CAROLINA <br /> WHEREAS,the County of Lee owns certain vacant property located at 0 W Forest Oaks <br /> Drive SR1469, PIN number 9667-87-8477-00, Lee County,North Carolina, as shown on a deed <br /> Co; recorded in Deed Book 434, Page 73, in the office of the Register of Deeds for Lee County, to <br /> which the record thereof reference is hereby made for more complete description; and, <br /> WHEREAS,the taxable value of the property is $15,400; and, <br /> WHEREAS,the above-referenced property was conveyed to the County as the result of a <br /> Sheriffs foreclosure sale; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the amount of fees and taxes owed on the property as the result of such sale <br /> is $3,156.93; and, <br /> WHEREAS,North Carolina General Statutes §§ 153A-176 and 160A-269 permit the <br /> County to sell property by upset bid, after receipt of an offer to purchase the property; and, <br /> WHEREAS,the County of Lee proposes to dispose of the above described property as it <br /> is surplus to the County's needs; and, <br /> WHEREAS,the County received an offer submitted by Michael Jones ("Offeror")to <br /> purchase the property described above in the amount of$4,000.00,plus any advertising costs, a <br /> copy of which is attached hereto; and, <br /> WHEREAS, Offeror has paid to the County Clerk the required 5 percent(5%)deposit on <br /> Cr its offer and$200.00 of advertising costs; and, <br /> WHEREAS,the Lee County Board of Commissioners accepted the initial offer of <br /> $4,000.00 at its March 18, 2019 Regular Meeting; and, <br /> WHEREAS,the Lee County Board of Commissioners authorized staff to advertise the <br /> initial offer in any higher,upsetting offer, subject to the upset bid procedure; and, <br /> WHEREAS, on March 27, 2019,the initial offer was advertised in The Sanford Herald, <br /> starting the 10 day upset sealed bid period; and, <br />
