2006 - N <br />LEE COUNTY <br />o Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />RESOLUTION <br />ADOPTING THE <br />2006 LEE COUNTY FEDERAL LEGISLATIVE AGENDA <br />WHEREAS, the County of Lee has many capital improvement and service <br />enhancement needs that are not easily funded through traditional property tax revenues, and, <br />WHEREAS, it is important that all projects be pursued with vigor in an effort to improve <br />the quality of life for all county citizens; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners desire to pursue all available federal funding <br />sources for potentially eligible projects; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners appointed a Legislative Liaison Committee <br />that is responsible for advocating the legislative needs of the County to State and Federal <br />representatives; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Committee has developed a recommended agenda that includes the <br />• certain projects that the Board of Commissioners believes further the priorities of the County; <br />and, <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Lee County Board of Commissioners <br />approves these projects as the 2006 Lee County Legislative Agenda: <br />1. Floyd Knight School Gym, Pool and Therapy Complex <br />2. Endor Iron Furnace Restoration and Park <br />3. Lee Primary Care <br />4. Emergency Services Training Center <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners Legislative Liaison Committee is instructed to pursue funding of these projects <br />on the County's behalf with all applicable federal officials. <br />Adopted this 20`" day of February, 2006. <br />ATTEST: <br />y ,el M.
