D Q <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrav <br />RESOLUTION <br />TO LIMIT RESTRICTIONS ON POLITICAL SIGNS <br />TO THE CORPORATE LIMITS <br />IN THE CITY OF SANFORD <br />AND <br />TOWN OF BROADWAY <br />WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners, meeting in regular session <br />on September 20, 2005, adopted the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO); <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the UDO states temporary political signs must be erected on private <br />property, and in no instance shall be permitted within any public right -of -way; and <br />WHEREAS, political signs shall not be placed on utility poles, trees, on public <br />property, or in any street median; and <br />WHEREAS, political signs shall be limited to a maximum sign area of six (6) <br />square feet. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, We the Lee County Board of Commissioners, do hereby <br />request that political signs be limited to a maximum sign area of six (6) square <br />feet within the corporate limits of the City of Sanford or the Town of Broadway <br />and a maximum of 32 square feet within the unincorporated area of Lee County. <br />Adopted the 16` day of October 2006. <br />ATTEST: <br />• <br />kn611Lee, Clerk <br />Herbert A.
