2006 -4 <br />• LEE COUNTY <br />©004) (3 L7)0OL40(p <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />RESOLUTION <br />TO ALLOW STAFF AND FAMILY MEMBERS TO PURCHASE <br />BOOKS AT BOOK SALES <br />WHEREAS, N.C. General Statute 160A- 266(c) permits Boards of Commissioners to adopt <br />regulations or policies under which specific administrators, without need of further board action, <br />may dispose of personal property worth less than $500.00 for any one item or group of similar <br />items; and <br />WHEREAS, the Lee County Library has a supply of used books, which are surplus to its needs, <br />and if sold will only bring a modest price per book. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners for Lee County as <br />follows: <br />Section 1 <br />Mr. Mike Matochik, Library Administrator, is hereby designated as the administrative <br />official in the Lee County Library System with the continuing authority to: <br />(a) Declare books, records, tapes and other qualifying property to be surplus; <br />• (b) Set the fair market value of such property; <br />(c) Sell the property by private sale; and <br />(d) Convey title to the property <br />Section 2 <br />Mr. Mike Matochik, Library Administrator to whom the foregoing powers are delegated, <br />shall make semiannual reports to the Board of Commissioners as follows: <br />(a) One report is to be filed February 1 summarizing sales between the preceding <br />July 1 and December 31 <br />(b) The other report shall be filed by each August 31 summarizing the sales <br />between the preceding January 1 June 30' <br />(c) Each report is to <br />(1) generally describe any property disposed of; <br />(2) list to whom it was conveyed; <br />(3) state the consideration received for the property <br />Section 3 <br />This policy shall be in full force and effe4from d after the ado this resolution. <br />Adopted this 16`" day of October 2006. � � <br />Herbert A.
