2008 - 14-1 <br />LEE COUNTY <br />• — W <br />:d., : a3tre" ,ew3 <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />RESOLUTION <br />WHEREAS, William Henry White, Jr. was born in Sanford on November 26, 1935, was <br />educated in the Lee County Schools, and was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, <br />graduated from Sanford Central High School, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and <br />UNC- Chapel Hill School of Medicine, and; <br />WHEREAS, Dr. White served in the U.S. Air Force for two years and returned to Sanford to <br />open his medical practice, and; <br />WHEREAS, Dr. White is survived by his wife, Faye, three daughters and seven grandchildren, <br />and; <br />WHEREAS, Dr. White served as a past director of the Chamber of Commerce, the Sanford <br />Rotary Club, Board of Directors for BB &T, past president of the Sanford Cotillion Club and was <br />a member of the Century Club, and; <br />WHEREAS, Dr. White was a member of the Lee County Medical Society and recently retired as <br />• OB -GYN physician at Central Carolina Hospital, and was noted for delivering more than 6,000 <br />babies during his 38 years in his Sanford medical practice, and; <br />WHEREAS, Dr. White was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church where he served on <br />various boards and committees and was a member of the Methodist Men and Moffitt Sunday <br />School Class, and; <br />WHEREAS, Dr. White was an honorable man, serving his family, church, and community well, <br />and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee <br />as follows: <br />Section 1: That it honors the memory of Dr. William Henry White, Jr, and extends to <br />his wife and family our sincere sympathy. <br />Section 2: That the Board expresses appreciation for Dr. White's leadership and <br />dedicated service to his patients. <br />Section 3: That this Resolution be made a part of the permanent minutes of the April <br />7, 2008, meeting of this Board and a copy be presented to the family with appropriate <br />ceremony. <br />Adopted this 7th day of April 2008. <br />• Jerry M. emmond, Sponsor qobert H.
