2010 - <br />LE E COUNTY <br />• i C10134© C3 no p Fe © 7n <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, Lloyd W. Hoover spent his career working with young people as an educator and <br />band director, including leading the first Junior High School band to perform in Gimbel's <br />Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Kentucky Derby, and the inaugural parade for President <br />William J. Clinton; and <br />WHEREAS, Lloyd W. Hoover taught mathematics and was band director at the W. B. Wicker <br />School from 1961 to 1968, inspiring the high- stepping marching band and concert band to <br />compete in the Azalea Festival and other regional competitions; and <br />WHEREAS, Lloyd W. Hoover made an impact on young people by encouraging students to <br />strive for excellence and to make wise choices in life; and <br />WHEREAS, Lloyd W. Hoover served as a teacher, friend, and role model with his innovative <br />spirit and enthusiasm for teaching children, selflessly giving his time and talents during lean <br />• budget years, and influencing the lives of all he touched; and <br />WHEREAS, Lloyd W. Hoover demonstrated in countless ways his dedication to the welfare of <br />others and earned the respect and affection of his students, co- workers, and others in the <br />community who were impacted by his leadership, and thus, has earned and justly deserves <br />the public recognition. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, We the Lee County Board of Commissioners do hereby deem it an <br />honor and pleasure to extend this proclamation of recognition to Lloyd W.
