2005 - � <br />LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />RESOLUTION <br />TO ESTABLISH THE <br />RURAL FIRE PROTECTION IMPROVEMENT TASK FORCE <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners desires to ensure the highest quality fire <br />protection services for all Lee County citizens; and, <br />WHEREAS, the volunteer fire departments have increased responsibilities that require <br />additional manpower and increased resource allocation; and, <br />WHEREAS, it is important that the community be assured that fire protection services are <br />provided with the highest standards of professionalism by the most efficient means possible; <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Lee County Board of Commissioners <br />establishes the Rural Fire Protection Improvement Task Force to study and make <br />recommendations on the following matters: <br />1. Ensure maximum resource utilization efficiency county -wide <br />® 2. Consider implementation of a county -wide fire tax rate <br />3. Determine methods to improve ISO ratings county -wide <br />4. Consider merits of county -wide first responder service <br />5. Consider alternatives for reducing volunteer departments' administrative burden <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners appoints the following individuals to serve on the task force and respectfully <br />request a full report of their recommendations by February 5, 2006: <br />Bob Brown <br />Scott Holt <br />Bob Dalrymple <br />Roger King <br />Wes Lail <br />David Smitherman <br />Alvin Ward <br />Lee County Commissioner <br />Lee County Volunteer Fire Chief (Tramway) <br />Lee County Citizen <br />Lee County Bus. /Industry (Wyeth) <br />Office of State Fire Marshall <br />Lee County Manager <br />Asst.
