BRITT <br /> REGISTER OF DEEDS <br /> FILED Aug 23, 2018 <br /> AT 04:14:34 pm <br /> BOOK 00003 <br /> START PAGE 0501 <br /> END PAGE 0502 <br /> INSTRUMENT # 04922 <br /> EXCISE TAX (None) <br /> LEE COUNTY-- <br /> Committed <br /> Today for a Better Tomorrow <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1380, LOT <br /> 20 HOOKER STREET PIN 9642-54-4884-00, LEE COUNTY NORTH CAROLINA <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Lee and the City of Sanford owns certain vacant property <br /> located on Hooker Street, PIN Number 9642-54-4884-00, in the Washington Avenue <br /> Neighborhood, in the City of Sanford, Lee County, North Carolina, as shown on a deed recorded <br /> in Deed Book 1276, Page 808, in the office of the Register of Deeds for Lee County, to which <br /> the record thereof reference is hereby made for more complete description; and, <br /> WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statutes §§ 153A-176 and 160A-269 permit the <br /> county to sell property by upset bid, after receipt of an offer to purchase the property; and, <br /> WHEREAS, to facilitate the sale of jointly owned property, the City of Sanford conveyed <br /> its interest in such property to the County of Lee, as shown on a deed recorded in Deed Book <br /> Page in the office of the Register of Deeds for Lee County; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Lee proposes to dispose of the above described property on <br /> behalf of both the City and County as it is surplus to our needs; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the amount of taxes and fees owed on the property is $7,678.93 and the <br /> taxable value of the property is $2,600.00. <br /> WHEREAS, the County received an offer submitted by Brick Capital Community <br /> Development Corporation ("Offeror"), to purchase the property described above in the amount <br /> of$800.00 plus any advertising costs; and, <br /> WHEREAS, Offeror paid to the County Clerk the required 5 percent (5%) deposit on her <br /> offer plus advertising costs; and, <br /> WHEREAS, at its regular meeting on June 18, 2018, the Lee County Board of <br /> Commissioners accepted the offer of$800.00 and such offer was advertised in The Sanford <br /> Herald on July 5, 2018; and, <br /> WHEREAS, no further upset bids were received during the 10-day upset bid period, and <br /> the original offer from Offeror is the final and highest bid received. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lee County Board of Commissioners <br /> as follows: <br /> 1.
