BRITT REGISTER OF DEEDS FILED Aug 23, 2018 AT 04:14:34 pm BOOK 00003 START PAGE 0501 END PAGE 0502 INSTRUMENT # 04922 EXCISE TAX (None) LEE COUNTY-- Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1380, LOT 20 HOOKER STREET PIN 9642-54-4884-00, LEE COUNTY NORTH CAROLINA WHEREAS, the County of Lee and the City of Sanford owns certain vacant property located on Hooker Street, PIN Number 9642-54-4884-00, in the Washington Avenue Neighborhood, in the City of Sanford, Lee County, North Carolina, as shown on a deed recorded in Deed Book 1276, Page 808, in the office of the Register of Deeds for Lee County, to which the record thereof reference is hereby made for more complete description; and, WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statutes §§ 153A-176 and 160A-269 permit the county to sell property by upset bid, after receipt of an offer to purchase the property; and, WHEREAS, to facilitate the sale of jointly owned property, the City of Sanford conveyed its interest in such property to the County of Lee, as shown on a deed recorded in Deed Book Page in the office of the Register of Deeds for Lee County; and, WHEREAS, the County of Lee proposes to dispose of the above described property on behalf of both the City and County as it is surplus to our needs; and, WHEREAS, the amount of taxes and fees owed on the property is $7,678.93 and the taxable value of the property is $2,600.00. WHEREAS, the County received an offer submitted by Brick Capital Community Development Corporation ("Offeror"), to purchase the property described above in the amount of$800.00 plus any advertising costs; and, WHEREAS, Offeror paid to the County Clerk the required 5 percent (5%) deposit on her offer plus advertising costs; and, WHEREAS, at its regular meeting on June 18, 2018, the Lee County Board of Commissioners accepted the offer of$800.00 and such offer was advertised in The Sanford Herald on July 5, 2018; and, WHEREAS, no further upset bids were received during the 10-day upset bid period, and the original offer from Offeror is the final and highest bid received. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lee County Board of Commissioners as follows: 1. The Lee County Board of Commissioners hereby accepts the offer of$800.00 from RrinL r —;4n1
