BRITT <br /> REGISTER OF DEEDS <br /> FILED Aug 23, 2018 <br /> AT 04:09:59 pm <br /> BOOK 00003 <br /> START PAGE 0498 <br /> END PAGE 0500 <br /> INSTRUMENT# 04921 <br /> EXCISE TAX (None) <br /> LEE Coui • <br /> Committed <br /> Today for a Better Tomorrow <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF PROPERTY <br /> LOCATED AT 0 LEMON SPRINGS ROAD, LOT 2 PIN 9549-17-7784-00 <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Lee owns certain vacant property located on Lemon Springs <br /> Road, PIN number 9549-17-7784-00, Lee County, North Carolina, as shown on a deed recorded <br /> in Deed Book 1470, Page 689, in the office of the Register of Deeds for Lee County, to which <br /> the record thereof reference is hereby made for more complete description; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the taxable value of the property is $13,000.00; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the above-referenced property was conveyed to the County of Lee as a <br /> result of a foreclosure sale on August 31, 2017; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the amount of fees and taxes owed on the property as the result of such sale <br /> is $6,221.95; and, <br /> WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statutes §§ 153A-176 and 160A-269 permit the <br /> County and City to sell property by upset bid, after receipt of an offer to purchase the property; <br /> and, <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Lee proposes to dispose of the above described property as it <br /> is surplus to the County's needs; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the County received an offer submitted by Charlie Martin ("Offeror") to <br /> purchase the property described above in the amount of$1,000.00,plus any advertising costs, a <br /> copy of which is attached hereto; and, <br /> WHEREAS, Offeror has paid to the County Clerk the required 5 percent (5%) deposit on <br /> its offer; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners accepts the offer of$1,000.00 or <br /> any higher, upsetting offer. <br />
