LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />PROCLAMATION CELEBRATING <br />OLDER AMERICANS MONTH <br />WHEREAS, Lee County includes countless older Americans who enrich and strengthen <br />our community; and, <br />WHEREAS, Lee County Government is committed to engaging and supporting older <br />adults, their families, and caregivers through a variety of public programs and services; <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, the county organizes the Senior Games and Silver Arts of Lee County for <br />adults 50 and older that will take place May 14th — 29th acknowledging the importance of <br />taking part in activities that promote physical, mental and emotional well-being — no <br />matter your age; and, <br />WHEREAS, Lee County Government Enrichment Center promotes home and <br />community-based services that support independent living; involves older adults in <br />community planning and events; and provides opportunities for older adults to work, <br />volunteer, learn, lead and mentor. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Lee County Board of Commissioners <br />proclaim the month of May 2018 as OlderAmericans Month in Lee County, North <br />Carolina and call upon residents of all ages to observe this month by recognizing older <br />adults and the people who serve them as vital parts of the Lee County community. <br />ADOPTED this _T*1 day of '1 2018. <br />Commissioners <br />ATTEST: <br />ble, Clerk to the Board <br />Amy Dalrymple, Chair <br />Lee County Board of <br />
