cox 18 PAGE 30 0 5 3 <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />IN ITS CAPACITY AS THE GOVERNING BODY <br />AS THE <br />LEE COUNTY WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT NO. 1 <br />MONDAY, MARCH 20, 2000 <br />A meeting of the governing body of the Lee County Water and Sewer District No. <br />I was held in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest <br />Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, immediately following the regular meeting of the Lee <br />J County Board of Commissioners held on said date. Commissioners present were W. <br />Chad Adams, F. Hubert Garner, Herbert A. Hincks, Bertha A. Matthews, Nathan E. <br />Paschal, and Robert T. Reives. Commissioner John I. Sauls was absent. <br />Chairman Hincks presided and Gaynell M. Lee, Clerk to the Board of <br />Commissioners acted as Secretary of the meeting. <br />Commissioner Adams moved to approve the consent agenda as printed, which <br />consisted of the following item: <br />• Minutes of the November 15, 1999 meeting <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Sauls <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered reducing tap fees for water sign -ups from $ 125 to $75 and <br />extending the sign -up period through April 28, 2000 for the Phase If Water Project. <br />Public Works Director Kenny Cole recommended that the Board reduce the current tap <br />fee from $125 to S75 and reimburse the individuals that have paid S125. Mr. Cole told <br />the Board that his office will be doing a mass mailing to all residents in the Phase II area <br />to try and get more sign -ups. After some discussion, Commissioner Reives moved to <br />approve the reduction in tap fees from $125 to S75, refund the individuals that have paid <br />S125, and extend the sign -up period through April 28, 2000. Upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />
