EGOX 17 PAGE 992 143 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS IN ITS CAPACITY AS THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE LEE COUNTY WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT NO. I NOVEMBER 15, 1999 .1/ A meeting of the governing body of the Lee County Water and Sewer District No. 1 was held in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillerest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, immediately following the regular meeting of the Lee County Board of Commissioners held on said date. Commissioners present were W. Chad Adams, F. Hubert. Garner, Herbert A. Hincks, Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, and John I. Sauls. Chairman Hincks presided and Gaynell M. Lee, Clerk to the Board of Commissioners acted as Secretary of the meeting. Commissioner Adams moved to approve the consent agenda as printed, which consisted of the following item: • Minutes of the October 4, 1999 meeting Upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, and Sauls Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. Public Works Director Kenny Cole gave the Board an update on the Phase 11 Water Project. He told the Board that eight public meetings have been conducted, 916 customers have signed up for water taps, and that volunteers are going door -to -door to assist with obtaining additional sign -ups for the project. He also discussed with the Board the possibility of extending the $75 sign -up period until December 31, 1999. After some discussion, Commissioner Paschal moved to extend the $75 sign -up period for the Phase 11 Water Project through December 31, 1999. Upon a vote, the results were as follows:
