`F r <br />nox i7 PAGF 493 105 <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />IN THEIR CAPACITY AS THE GOVERNING BODY <br />OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT NO. I <br />OCTOBER 19, 1998 <br />A meeting of the governing body of the Lee County Water and Sewer District No. <br />1 was held in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillerest <br />Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, immediately following the regular meeting of the Lee <br />County Board of Commissioners held on said date. Commissioners present were Jimmie <br />M. Cox, T. Ervin Mansfield, Bertha L. Matthews, J. Douglas Moretz, Nathan E. Paschal <br />and Robert T. Reives. <br />Chairperson Matthews presided and Gaynell M. Lee, Clerk to the Board of <br />Commissioners, acted as Secretary of the meeting. <br />Commissioner Garner moved to approve the consent agenda as printed, which <br />consisted of the following item: <br />• Minutes of the October 5, 1998 meeting <br />Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairperson ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />County Attorney K. R. Hoyle discussed with the Board two Deeds of Release for <br />land in the Jonesboro Township. He told the Board that in 1983 Eugene and Linda <br />McNeill and Ralph Payne, Truby Payne, Christin Ammons, Sarah Dahl and Brenda <br />Campbell conveyed to Lee County an easement to construct, maintain and operate an <br />underground pipeline for the purpose of transmitting water across a 5.99 acre tract of land <br />in the Jonesboro Township. In June, 1997, the Board transferred the water system, with <br />the exception of the portion that serves Golden Poultry and the Cumnock Water district to <br />the Lee County Water and Sewer District No. 1. The line in the Jonesboro Township is <br />no longer used and is not necessary for the operation of the water system. The parties in <br />question have requested the easement be returned to them.
