a~ax 17 WE 69 <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />IN ITS CAPACITY AS THE GOVERNING BODY <br />OF <br />LEE COUNTY WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT NO. I <br />MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 1997 <br />A meeting of the governing body of the Lee County Water and Sewer District No. <br />1 was held in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest <br />Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, immediately following the regular meeting of the Lee <br />,f County Board of Commissioners held on said date. Commissioners present were Jimmie <br />M. Cox; F. Hubert Garner; T. Ervin Mansfield; Bertha L. Matthews; J. Douglas Moretz; <br />Nathan E. Paschal and Robert T. Reives. <br />Chairman Garner presided and Gaynell M. Beal, Clerk to the Board of <br />Commissioners, acted as Secretary of the meeting. <br />Commissioner Reives moved to approve the consent agenda as printed, which <br />consisted of the following item: <br />• minutes of the August 18, 1997 special meeting <br />Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a change order to add a water line on Tramway Road (Hwy. <br />78) and down-size lines on Cox Mill Road. Public Works Director Kenny Cole discussed <br />the change order with the Board and answered questions. After some discussion, <br />Commissioner Matthews moved to approve Change Order No. 2 with McMahan Brothers <br />Pipeline, in the amount of $129,869.70, and to authorize the County Manager or <br />Chairman to approve Change Order No. 2 with Sanford Contractors, Inc., up to a $2,000 <br />change. Commissioner Mansfield seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were <br />as follows: <br />
