MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS IN ITS CAPACITY AS THE GOVERNING BODY OF LEE COUNTY WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT NO. 1 MONDAY, AUGUST 18, 1997 A meeting of the governing body of the Lee County Water and Sewer District No. 1 was held in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest J Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, immediately following the regular meeting of the Lee County Board of Commissioners held on said date. Commissioners present were Jimmie M. Cox; F. Hubert Garner; T. Ervin Mansfield; Bertha L. Matthews; J. Douglas Moretz; Nathan E. Paschal and Robert T. Reives. Chairman Garner presided and Gaynell M. Beal, Clerk to the Board of Commissioners, acted as Secretary of the meeting. Commissioner Cox moved to add to the agenda discussion on new changes to the water project. Commissioner Moretz seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. Public Works Director Kenny Cole discussed with the Board a new water tank the City of Sanford would be constructing, which would allow the Water District to save approximately $15,000 per year due to the ability to down size water lines on Cox Mill Road. The main water tank for the County will be located on Tramway Road. Because of the city installing this new tank residents on Tramway Road will now be included in Phase I of the water project. Discussion also centered around change orders that will take place during construction on the project. After some discussion Commissioner Reives authorized the Engineers to approve change orders, up to $15,000, with a report to the Board of Commissioners concerning the change order. Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives Nay: None
