I <br /> <br />JUNE 2, 1997 <br /> <br />A meeting of the governing body of the Lee County Water and Sewer District No. <br />1 was held in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest <br />Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, immediately following the regular meeting of the Lee <br />County Board of Commissioners held on said date. Commissioners present were Jimmie <br />M. Cox; F. Hubert Garner; T. Ervin Mansfield; Bertha L. Matthews; J. Douglas Moretz; <br />Nathan E. Paschal and Robert T. Reives. <br />Chairman Garner presided and Gaynell M. Beal, Clerk to the Board of <br />Commissioners, acted as Secretary of the meeting. <br />® The Board considered additional agenda items to be discussed. Commissioner <br />Cox moved to approve the consent agenda as printed, which consisted of the following <br />item: <br />• minutes of the March 17, 1997 meeting <br />Commissioner Reives seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Public Works Director Kenny Cole gave the Board an update on Phase I of the <br />Lee County Water Project. He told the Board the bid opening was set for Thursday, June <br />5, 1997, at 2:00 p.m. Currently there are approximately 66% of the needed 85% sign-ups <br />for the project. There is $4,462,000 ($366,000 for construction) funded for this phase of <br />the project. Mr.` Cole gave the Board two scenarios that may develop if the project goes <br />over budget. <br />
