s 16 rncF 920 1:13 <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />IN ITS CAPACTIY AS THE GOVERNING BODY <br />OF <br />LEE COUNTY WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT NO. 1 <br />MONDAY, MARCH 17, 1997 <br />A meeting of the governing body of the Lee County Water and <br />Sewer District No. 1 was held in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County <br />Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, <br />immediately following the regular meeting of the Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners held on said date. Commissioners present were Jimmie <br />M. Cox; F. Hubert Garner; T. Ervin Mansfield; Bertha L. Matthews; J. <br />Douglas Moretz; Nathan E. Paschal and Robert T. Reives <br />Chairman Garner presided and Gaynell M. Beal, Clerk to the <br />Board of Commissioners, acted as Secretary of the meeting. <br />The Board considered the draft of the minutes of the January 21, <br />1997, Lee County Water. and Sewer District No. 1 meeting. <br />Commissioner Moretz moved to approve the minutes as the official record <br />of said meeting. Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and <br />Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered extending the deadline for water sign-ups for <br />the Water Extension Project until the day the contractor begins <br />construction. Public Works Director Kenny Cole also asked the Board to <br />approve an increase in the tap fee from $75.00 to $125.00 beginning May <br />1, 1997. He further told the Board the project will be bid the week of <br />May 17, 1997, for thirty (30) days. Commissioner Mansfield moved to <br />approve the extension for water sign-ups and the increase in tap fees <br />from $75.00 to $125.00 beginning May 1, 1997. Commissioner Cox <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />
