TUESDAY, JANUARY 21, 1997 A meeting of the governing body of the Lee County Water and Sewer District No. 1 was held in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, immediately following the regular meeting of the Lee County Board of Commissioners held on said date. Commissioners present were Jimmie M. Cox; F. Hubert Garner; T. Ervin Mansfield; Bertha L. Matthews; J. Douglas Moretz; Nathan E. Paschal and Robert T. Reives. Chairman Garner presided and Gaynell M. Beal, Clerk to the Board of Commissioners, acted as Secretary of the meeting. The Board considered the draft of the minutes of the December 2, 1996, Lee 40 County Water and Sewer District No. 1 meeting. Commissioner Matthews moved to approve the minutes as the official record of said meeting. Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. The Board considered extending the deadline for water sign-ups from February 3, 1997, to March 20, 1997, and bidding the water project as soon as possible due to the possible cost of overruns and price increases that could result. Public Works Director Kenny Cole went over with the Board the following project schedule: Complete Plans January 20, 1997 (by Hobbs, Upchurch & Associates) Receive Permits February 15, 1997 Advertise for Bids February 1-27, 1997 Bid Project February 27, 1997 Award Project March 20, 1997 End Construction December, 1997 • 6188
