BOOK 16 ~m E 30 <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />IN ITS CAPACITY AS THE GOVERNING BODY <br />OF <br />LEE COUNTY WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT NO. 1 <br />MAY 1, 1995 <br />A meeting of the governing body of the Lee County Water and <br />Sewer District No. 1 was held in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County <br />Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, <br />immediately following the regular meeting of the Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners held on said date. Commissioners' present were Jimmie <br />M. Cox; John R. Dossenbach, Jr.; F. Hubert Garner; J. Douglas Moretz; <br />Robert T. Reives; William C. Stafford, Jr.; and Gordon A. Wicker. <br />Mr. F. Hubert Garner, Chairman, presided and Mrs. Gaynell M. <br />Beal, Clerk to the Board of Commissioners, acted as Secretary of the <br />meeting. <br />The Board considered the minutes from the April 17, 1995, <br />meeting. Commissioner Cox moved to approve the minutes as the <br />official record of said meeting. Commissioner Dossenbach seconded <br />the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Moretz, Reives, Stafford and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a letter received from Jackie E. McLamb, <br />District Director of the Farmers Home Administration, seeking <br />guidance from the Lee County Water and Sewer District Commissioners <br />on pursuing rural economic and community development services from <br />their agency. County Manager William Cowan discussed the letter with <br />the Board, answered questions and went over the proposed water rates <br />for varying levels of participation for the countywide water <br />expansion. After some discussion Commissioner Cox moved to <br />re-affirm the Lee County Water and Sewer District's commitment to <br />this project based on conditions put forward by the Farmers Home <br />Administration. Commissioner Moretz seconded the motion, and upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Moretz, Reives, Stafford and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />28 <br />1 <br />
