BOOK 16 ~m E 30
MINUTES OF THE MEETING
OF THE
LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
IN ITS CAPACITY AS THE GOVERNING BODY
OF
LEE COUNTY WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT NO. 1
MAY 1, 1995
A meeting of the governing body of the Lee County Water and
Sewer District No. 1 was held in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County
Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina,
immediately following the regular meeting of the Lee County Board of
Commissioners held on said date. Commissioners' present were Jimmie
M. Cox; John R. Dossenbach, Jr.; F. Hubert Garner; J. Douglas Moretz;
Robert T. Reives; William C. Stafford, Jr.; and Gordon A. Wicker.
Mr. F. Hubert Garner, Chairman, presided and Mrs. Gaynell M.
Beal, Clerk to the Board of Commissioners, acted as Secretary of the
meeting.
The Board considered the minutes from the April 17, 1995,
meeting. Commissioner Cox moved to approve the minutes as the
official record of said meeting. Commissioner Dossenbach seconded
the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows:
Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Moretz, Reives, Stafford and
Wicker
Nay: None
The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously.
The Board considered a letter received from Jackie E. McLamb,
District Director of the Farmers Home Administration, seeking
guidance from the Lee County Water and Sewer District Commissioners
on pursuing rural economic and community development services from
their agency. County Manager William Cowan discussed the letter with
the Board, answered questions and went over the proposed water rates
for varying levels of participation for the countywide water
expansion. After some discussion Commissioner Cox moved to
re-affirm the Lee County Water and Sewer District's commitment to
this project based on conditions put forward by the Farmers Home
Administration. Commissioner Moretz seconded the motion, and upon a
vote, the results were as follows:
Aye: Cox, Dossenbach, Garner, Moretz, Reives, Stafford and
Wicker
Nay: None
28
1
