LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR <br />BUILDING REUSE GRANTS PROGRAM <br />WHEREAS, the North Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority (RIA) has authorized the awarding of <br />grants from appropriated funds to aid eligible units of government in financing the cost of building <br />activities needed to create jobs; and, <br />WHEREAS, the County of Lee needs assistance in financing a building project that may qualify for <br />Rural Grants/Programs funding; and, <br />WHEREAS, Boston Fruit Slice & Confectionery Corporation is considering renovating a vacant building <br />located in Lee County; and, <br />WHEREAS, the County of Lee intends to request grant assistance for the Boston Fruit Slice & <br />Confectionery Corporation, 2627 Watson Avenue, Sanford, North Carolina, Building Renovation project <br />from the Building Reuse Grant Program — Vacant Building Category; and, <br />WHEREAS, a Building Reuse Grant Program — Vacant Building Category grant can be made subject to <br />Boston Fruit Slice & Confectionery Corporation committing to locate its candy <br />manufacturing/distribution facility in Lee County. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS; <br />1. That the County of Lee will provide 5% of the Building Reuse Program Grant toward project <br />construction costs, if approved for the grant. <br />2. That Amy Dalrymple, Chair, and successors so titled, is hereby authorized to execute and file <br />an application on behalf of Lee County with the Rural Development Division, North Carolina <br />Department of Commerce (RDD) for a Building Restoration and Reuse Grant. <br />3. That Amy Dalrymple, Chair, or John Crumpton, Manager, and successors so titled, is hereby <br />authorized and directed to furnish such information as the RDD may request in connection with <br />such application or the project; to make the assurances as contained above; and to execute <br />such other documents as may be required in connection with the application. <br />4. That Lee County has substantially complied or will substantially comply with all Federal, State, <br />and local laws, rules, regulations, and ordinances applicable to the project and to the grants <br />pertaining thereto. <br />Adopted this 6t' day of July 2016. <br />Amy M.
