X01(' <br />LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />RESOLUTION <br />TO PLACE 4 -WAY STOP SIGN AT <br />THE INTERSECTION OF <br />CARBONTON ROAD AND STEEL BRIDGE ROAD <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Transportation (DOT) serves the State of North Carolina by <br />ensuring a fast, safe, efficient, accessible and convenient transportation system that meets our <br />vital national interests and enhances the quality of life of the citizens of North Carolina, today and <br />into the future; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Transportation has conducted a traffic study of the intersection at <br />Carbonton Road and Steel Bridge Road; and, <br />WHEREAS, the completed study shows this intersection to be dangerous for traffic entering the <br />intersection due to the obstruction of trees blocking the view and lack of site distance of oncoming <br />traffic and the way in which the road is constructed; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Department of Transportation to place 4 -way stop signs at the <br />designated intersection; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners is of the opinion that 4 -way stop signs <br />should be added to the intersection of Carbonton Road and Steel Bridge Road to reduce a <br />dangerous traffic situation. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the County of Lee <br />that the Division of Highways is hereby requested to place 4 -way stop signs at the intersection of <br />Carbonton Road and Steel Bridge Road in Sanford (Lee County) as soon as possible. <br />Adopted this 6t' day of June 2016. <br />ATTEST: <br />Danielle Mahoney, 10puty Clerk <br />Amy M.
