The Board of County Commissioners met in regular monthly session in the court- room at the courthouse at 10:00 A. M. , Monday, January 4, 1954, with the following i. members present : Commissioners C . N. Castleberry, Sion H. Kelly, Clyde J, Atkins , and C . M. Reeves , Jr. , Commissioner J. M. Cheshire was absent . ' On motion of Commissioner Kelly, seconded by Commissioner Atkins , Commissioner C . N . Castleberry was unanimously elected chairman and presided over the meeting of 4' the Board in the absence of Commissioner Cheshire , and the following business was transacted: I' The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Board of December 7, 1953, were -read and approved . '> Virgil W. Joyce of the Virgil W. Joyce Mapping Company appeared before the Board `" to report that the mapping of the City- of Sanford for the Revaluation and Eq ualization qualization sy Program had been completed and to turn the work over to the County. The Board accepted .. y the report and thanked Mr. Joyce for his work and cooperation. i' Mrs . Julia Hoyle , County Home Demonstration Agent, appeared before the Board ari ?' made a report of the activities of her office for the month of December, 1953. ?.4' A. Motion by Commissioner Kelly, seconded by Commissioner Atkins , that the army and navy recruiting personnel be notified that the County needs the offices now occupied -Ibr t them in the Courthouse Annex and advising them to vacate these offices at the earliest:' possible date . This motion was unanimously adopted. A .4 Mr. .E. M. Underwood, Jr. , appeared before the Board to explain the audit of Lee '3 County for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1953, action on said audit having been post- • poned at the December, 1953 meeting of the Board. . Motion by Commissioner Atkins , seconded by Commissioner Kelly, that audit of Lee yt` County for fiscal year ending June 30, 1953, be accepted and approved. This motion waJ'; 1. unanimously adopted and the audit was ordered filed. ' - Xi K. S.
