. 0a --- <br /> MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING , <br /> BOARD OP COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, • <br /> OF LEE COUNTY • • - <br /> JUNE 42 1956. <br /> The Board of County Commissioners of Lee County met in <br /> regular session in the Commissioners' Nisei at the 'Courthouse at <br /> 10:00 o'clock A.M., ,on June 4, 1956. The following members were - - <br /> present: J. T. Ledwell, J. H. Cheshire, Sian H. Kelly, Percy Measamer <br /> and Evander C. Winstead. <br /> Chairman J. T. Ledwell presided.'and .the following business <br /> was transacted: <br /> The minutes of the regular meeting of May 7, 1956, and <br /> special adjourned meeting of May 28, 1956, were read and' approved. <br /> • <br /> Chairman Ledwell read a letter ,from T. G. Poindexter, <br /> Eighth District Engineer of the State Highway and Public Works Comm- <br /> ission, stated that 6.14 miles of road had been added to the map in <br /> Lee County for the fiscal year 1955-56 and that all of said roads had <br /> been built except .74 mile which was under construction. <br /> W. D. Gregson, Veterans Service, Officer, made monthly report • <br /> of his official activities. • . <br /> Hugh Talley, County Sanitarian, made monthly report of his <br /> work and official activities. <br /> , Chairman Ledwell presented a letter from Mrs. G. W. Sulli- <br /> van, 1014 ,Grayland Street, Greensboro, North Carolina, requesting Board <br /> to recommend building of a road from Jonesboro-Tramway Road near old <br /> • , • <br /> Holt Place, Northward to the T. E. Foushee Place, a distance of about _ <br /> • - <br /> two miles. The Clerk was directed to send' proper petition td Mrs. ' <br /> Sullivan. <br /> The need of drainage pipe "in front of 'Health Center lot on <br /> Woodland Avenue was considered by the' Board, and Commissioner Winstead <br /> moved the adoption of, the following resolution: <br /> •• <br /> _ • <br /> • • <br />
