MINUTES OF SPECIAL ADJOURNED. MEETING <br /> OF <br /> BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> July 22, 1957 <br /> • <br /> The Board of County Commissioners of,Lee County met in the Commissioner's <br /> Room at the. Courthouse on the Z tiOday of July, 1957, at 7:30 o'clock P. M. , <br /> in Special Called Session, pursuant to notice duly given as by law required. <br /> The following members of the Board were present for dispatch of business. <br /> Commissioners Percy Measamer, Sion H. Kelly and Clyde J. Atkins. <br /> • <br /> Chairman Percy Measamer presided and the following business was transacted; <br /> Commissioner Kelly moved the adoption of a road petition submitted by David <br /> A. Worrell, requesting that a road in Cape Fear Township, running from U. S. <br /> 421 at Erwin Thomas's Service Station to the Hardsurfaceda road at the W. B. <br /> Thomas farm, a distance of . 02 miles, and known as the Worrell road, bed <br /> reworked and paved by the State Highway Commission. The motion for the <br /> adoption of this petition was seconded by Commissioner Atkins, and the same was <br /> unanimously adopted. <br /> Commissioner Atkins then moved that a road petition submitted by J. R. <br /> Lanier requesting that a road located in Deep River Township known as the Osgcod <br /> Road and as the Lee's Chapel and River Road, the same running a distance of <br /> 5. 2 miles, be straightened, improved and black topped by the State Highway and <br /> Public Works Commission. The motion for the adoption of this petition was <br /> seconded by Commissioner Kelly and the same was unanimously adopted. <br /> The clerk was instructed to send the petitions to Mr. Harold T. Makepeace, <br /> Director of Secondary•Roads, at his office in Raleigh. <br /> The County Attorney, then presented the budget resolution and the same was <br /> considered by the Board. <br /> (See attached Sheets) <br /> J. B. O'Brien, Register of Deeds, presented a new jury list and the same <br /> was revised and approved by the Board. <br /> There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting <br /> was adjourned. <br /> Chairman <br /> Attested: <br /> Clerk <br />
