://7 <br /> MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br /> of <br /> BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> • December 2,1 1957 <br /> The Board of Commissioners of Lee County met in regular monthly <br /> session in the Commissioners Room at the Courthouse on Monday, December <br /> 31 1957 at 10:00 o'clock A. M. with the following members of the Board present <br /> for dispatch of business: <br /> Commissioners J. M. Cheshire, Clyde J. Atkins, Percy Measamer, <br /> Evander C. Winstead, and Sion H. Kelly. <br /> Chairman Percy Measamer presided and the following business was transacted: <br /> The minutes of the regular meeting of November 4, 1957 and the minutes <br /> of the Special Meeting of November 6, 1957 were read and approved. <br /> W. D. Gregson, Veteran's Service Officer presented monthly report of the <br /> activities of his office. <br /> D. F. Holder, Sheriff, presented monthly report of the activities of the <br /> Sheriff's Office. <br /> Monthly reports of Miss Monica Brown, County Home Demonstration Agent, <br /> and K. S. Harmon, County Farm Agent, were received and approved in the absence <br /> offMiss Brown and Mr. Harmon who were both out of the County on official <br /> business. <br /> The Chairman then present a letter from f McDaniel Lewis of Greensboro <br /> in which it was suggested that the Board consider the adoption of a resolution <br /> relative to the activity of the varicus counties of the State to determine the route <br /> of the Federal Super Highway the Ohio-West Virginia area to North Carolina. <br /> It was pointed out that the development of better highways from this state's two <br /> seaports to the Piedmont Section of North Carolina was of the most vital importance <br /> to our section of the State and that the closer the super highway came to this <br /> area the faster the area would develope. After full discussion of the question <br /> Commissioner Winstead moved the adoption of the following resolution, to-wit: <br />
