V <br /> „cy. <br /> MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF BOARD <br /> OF <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> February 3, 1958 <br /> The Board of Commissioners of Lee County met in regular monthly <br /> session in the Commissioners Room at the Courthouse on Monday, February <br /> 3, 1958 at 10:00 o'clock A. M. with the following members of the Board <br /> present for dispatch of business: <br /> Commissioners J. M. Cheshire, Evander C. Winstead, Sion H. <br /> Kelly, Clyde J. Atkins and Percy Measamer. <br /> Chairman Percy Measamer presided and the following business was <br /> transacted: <br /> The meeting was opened with prayer by Rev. E. C. Scott, Pastor <br /> of Trinity Methodist Church. <br /> The minutes of the regular meeting of January 6, 1958 were read and <br /> approved. <br /> The report of Miss Monica Brown, County Home Demonstration Agent, <br /> and the report of K. S. Harmon, County Farm Agent were received by the <br /> Board. <br /> A road petition was presented by W. M. Spivey requesting that a road <br /> in Pocket Township running from the Plank Road to the Black Road - a distance <br /> of 1. 3 miles, be rebuilt to standard width, stabilized for school bus use, <br /> mail rate use and regular traffic. On motion of Commissioner Cheshire and <br /> ronded by Commissioner Winstead the same was unanimously approved. <br /> James Madison Smith presented a road petition for a road in East <br /> Sanford Township running from the intersection of Northview road with <br /> the Old Osgood Road near Sanford Brick and Tile Company offices, westward <br /> for one-half mile, known as Matthews Smith Road, which said petition <br /> requested that said road be added to the State Highway system and maintained. <br /> On motion of Commissioner Winstead, which motion was seconded by <br /> Commissioner Cheshire, the petition was unanimously approved. <br /> E. J. McPherson presented a road petition for a road in West Sanford <br />
