1 • <br /> . <br /> • <br /> • <br /> • <br /> MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE <br /> BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS: <br /> March 3, 1958 <br /> The Board of Commissioners of Lee County met in regular monthly <br /> session in the Commissioners room at the Courthouse on March 3, 1958 at <br /> 10:00 o'clock A. M. with the following members of the Board present for <br /> dispatch of business: <br /> Commissioners Evander C. Winstead, Clyde J. Atkins, Percy <br /> Measamer, Sion H. Kelly and J. M. Cheshire. <br /> Chairman Percy Measamer presided and the following business was <br /> transacted; <br /> The meeting was opened with prayer by Rev. Johri_D. Smith, Pastor <br /> of the Jonesboro Baptist Church. <br /> W. D. Gregson, Veteran Service Officer, presented monthly report <br /> of the activities of his office. <br /> E. P. Clark, Caretaker of the Courthouse, reported on the condition <br /> of all the buildings owned by the county. <br /> Commissioner Winstead introduced and moved the adoption of the following <br /> resolution, to-wit: <br /> THAT WHEREAS, the City of Sanford is now conducting a Recreation <br /> Program for the benefit of all of the citizens of Lee County; and whereas, <br /> the County of Lee has 'certain funds not derived from taxes levied and collected <br /> by the County, but derived from non tax revenue; and whereas, it is the <br /> desire.of this Board and the citizens of Lee County that Lee County assist <br /> in a financial manner in the operations of said Recreation Program; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that there is hereby appropriated <br /> • <br /> out of the county general fund surplus from unappropriated non-tax monies <br /> the sum of $2, 000. 00 to the Recreation Commission of the City of Sanford <br /> for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1958. <br />
