MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING . OF BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS May 5, 1958 The Board of Commissioners of Lee County met in regular monthly session in the Commissioners Room--at the Courthouse on Monday, May 5, 1958 at 10:00 o'clock A. M. with the following members of the Board present for dispatch of business: Commissioners: Sian H. Kelly, Evander C. Winstead, Percy Measamer, Clyde J. Atkins and J. M. Cheshire. The meeting was opened with prayer by the Rev. R. H. Braffurd, Pastor of the Pentecostal Holiness Church of Sanford. Chairman Percy Mesamer presided and the following business was trans- acted: • The minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 7, 1958, minutes of the Special Adjourned Meeting of April 8, 1958 and Minutes of the Special Called Meeting of April 21, 1958, were read and approved. D. F. Holder, Sheriff, presented monthly report of the activities of the Sheriff's Office. W. D. Gregson, Veterans Service Officer, presented monthly report of the activities of his office. The Clerk reported to the Board that the bond order entitled "Bond Order authorizing:the issuance' of $67,•000 School Bonds of the County of Lee", which had been introduced on April 21, 1958, had been published in The Sanford Herald on April 28th, 1958, with notice that the"Board of Commissioners would hold a public hearing thereon on May 5, 1958, at 10:00 o'clock A. M. Commissioner Winstead moved that the Board proceed to hold a public hearing on the bond order. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Atkins and was unanimously adopted. At 10:00 'o'clock A. M. , the Chairman announced that the Board would hear any citizen or taxpayer who desired to be heard with respect to the bond order. At the direction of the Chairman the Clerk read the bond order and . the published notice of hearing.
