:jibe <br /> sc <br /> MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br /> of the <br /> BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> July 7, 1958 <br /> The Board of Commissioners of Lee County met in regular monthly <br /> session in the Commissioners Room at the Courthouse on Monday, July 7, <br /> 1958 at 10:00 o'clock A. M. with the following members of the Board present <br /> for dispatch of business: <br /> Commissioners Evander C. Winstead, J. M. Cheshire, Percy Measamer, <br /> Clyde J. Atkins and Sion H. Kelly. <br /> Chairman Percy Measamer presided and the following business was <br /> transacted: • <br /> The minutes of the regular meeting of June 2, 1958 and the minutes of the <br /> special called meeting of June 26, 1958'were read and approved. <br /> W. D. Gregson, Veteran Service Officer, presented monthly report of <br /> the activities of his office. <br /> K. S. Harmon, County Agent, presented the report of the County Agent <br /> and the Assistant County Agent. <br /> W. H. Campbell, Tax Collector, reported upon the collection of taxes during <br /> the preceding month. <br /> A delegation came before the Board to discuss the question of the stabalization <br /> and paving of the Cox Mill Road. The Board promised to assist the persons <br /> living on that road in attempting to get the road stabalized and paved. <br /> A. R. Bachelor submitted a road petition requesting that a road located <br /> in Greenwood Township running from old N. C. 87 to the new N. C. 87 by <br /> Swann Station Baptist Church a distance of . 10 miles be stabalized and paved. <br /> • This petition was unanimously approved on motion of Commissioner Winstead <br /> which motion was seconded by Commissioner Atkins. <br /> Miss Monica Brown, County Home Demonstration Agent, reported upon <br /> her activities during the month of June 1958. <br />
