M. with the following members of the Board <br /> present for dispatch of business: <br /> C0,1-1411\ ommissioners Evander C. Winstead, Sion Kelly, Clyde J. Atkins, <br /> Milton Cheshire, and Percy Measamer Chairman Percy Measamer presided <br /> and the following business was transacted:) <br /> Minutes of the Special meeting of October 1, 1958 and minutes of the <br /> Regular Meeting of October 6, 1958 were read and approved. <br /> Mr. M. H. McFarland - Secretary-Treasurer of the Lee Development <br /> Corporation appeared before the Board and asked that the value of its property <br /> t , IS located on Maple Avenue and South Fourth Street be reduced for tax purposes <br /> Arl✓�Lb"' for the year 1959. He pointed out that the buildings located on said property <br /> v y� were of practically no use and the same was not occupied. On motion duly <br /> qPiQVY Vct made' and seconded, the sound value of the house at 313 Maple Avenue was <br /> V reduced from $11, 110. 00 to $3, 610. 00, said valuation to apply as of January <br /> 1, 1959, and the sound value of the house at 215 South Fourth Street was <br /> reduced from $5, 700. 00 to $1, 200. 00, said valuation to apply as of January <br /> 1, 1959. rat. Gregson, Veterans Service Officer presented monthly report of <br /> the activities of his office. <br /> • <br /> K. S. Harmon, County Agent, presented the monthly report of the <br /> County Agent and the Assistant County Agent, <br /> Miss Monica Brown, County Home Demonstration Agent, reported upon <br /> her activities for the month of October, 1958. <br /> Commissioner Winstead moved that the County Attorney be authorized <br /> and directed to advertise and sell according to law, the 1955 Pink and Black <br /> model Victoria, two door Ford, Serial No. U5FV202 771, formerly owned by <br /> Clarence Pugh and conveyed.to the County of Lee by Bill of Sale executed by <br /> the said Clarence Pugh on the 12th day of September, 1958. This motion <br /> Was seconded by Commissioner Kelly and said motion was unanimously adopted. <br /> Thelma Gilmore appeared before the Board to present a claim against <br /> Y the Estate of John Lawrence Davis, said claim being in the amount of $437, 29. <br /> 1 The Board was advised by the Attorney that the said John Lawrence Davis had <br /> - executed a deed conveying all of his property,to Lee County prior to his <br /> admission to the Lee County Home and that the County had incurred certain <br /> expenses in hs behalf as a consideration for the aforesaid conveyance. <br /> Commissioner Cheshire then moved that the auditor determine the amount <br /> expended in behalf of said John Lawrence Davis and that they pay any excess <br /> of funds from the sale of the John Lawrence Davis land to Thelma Gilmore on <br /> her claim. & x This motion was seconded by Commissioner Kelly and the <br /> same was unanimously adopted. <br />
