' • SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF • COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF LEE COUNTY June 12, 1959 The Board of Commissioners of Lee County- met in Special Session in the County Commissioner's Room at the Courthouse on Friday night, June 12, 1959 at 7:30 o'clock P. M. after due notice as required-by law. The following members of the Board were present for dispatch of business: Commissioners Sion H. Kelly, Evander Winstead, Ralph Groce and • Percy Measamer. • ' Chairman Sion H. ,Kelly presided and the following business was transacted: trr The budget request for the fiscal year endingVe 30, 1960 for the various _. county agencies and.departments .were taken up,item by item and discussed. 7 No formal action was taken by: the-Board on the various budget requests . Ori motion duly made and seconded, the County Attorney, was authorized and directed to write the Administrator: of Lee County Hospital and ask him to mail copy of the-annual audit of the hospital to the Chairman of the Board so that the same might be kept in the' files of the Board of County Commissioners. The County Attorney reported to the Board that he had made two trips to Fayetteville and vicinity and had contacted Malcolm Geddie and various other individuals in an effort to• determine whether Lee County had any liability to support the eleven (11) children of Irene Geddie which children are now under the care of the Harnett County Welfare Department. The Attorney recommended that the Board not accept responsibility for these children until a Judicial determination of the .County's duties and responsibilities was had: . The Board discussed this question in detail and no formal action was taken.
