' ® • • • • ;7 - A <br /> �.'tyi r1 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING- <br /> 1 ci' • OF THE • <br /> BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> • July 5, 1960 <br /> The Board of Commissioners of.Lee County met in regular monthly <br /> session in the Commissioners' Room at the Courthouse on Tuesday, July 5, <br /> 1960, at 10:00 A. M. , with the following members of the Board present for <br /> dispatch of business: <br /> Commissioners Clyde J. Atkins, Ralph Groce, Sion H. Kelly, <br /> Percy Measamer and Evander Winstead. <br /> Commissioner Sion H. Kelly, Chairman of the Board, presided, <br /> and the following business was transacted: <br /> • The minutes of the regular meeting of June 6, 1960, and the minutes <br /> of the special meetings of June 27 and-June 29, 1960, were read and <br /> approved. • <br /> W. D. Gregson, Veteran's Service Officer, presented the monthly <br /> report of the Lee County Veteran' s Service Office. <br /> Mrs. Nette B. Keith, Register of Deeds, presented the report for the • <br /> office of Register of Deeds. , <br /> Miss Mary Estelle Doyle, County Home Economics Agent, presented <br /> her monthly report. <br /> • <br /> K. S. Harmon,. County Farm Agent and Norman Brickhouse, <br /> Assistant County Agent, presented the monthly report for the County • <br /> Agent's Office. <br /> • <br /> D. F. Holder, Sheriff, presented his monthly report. <br /> D. F. Harris, Insurance Agent, appeared before the Board and <br /> reported upon the insurance policies in force on all of the buildings owned <br /> by the County. He recommended that the fire insurance on the courthouse <br /> be increased by $100, 000. 00 and that all insurance on the courthouse be <br /> combined in one insurance policy. <br /> On motion of Commissioner Winstead, which motion was seconded by <br /> Commissioner Atkins, it was unanimously resolved that the insurance on the <br /> courthouse be increased by $100, 000. 00 and that the tmtal insurance on the <br /> courthouse be combined in one -insurance•policy. <br /> • <br /> Report was then received that S. Ray Byerly, Special Tax Attorney, <br /> had collected delinquent taxes in the amount of $25, 498. 60, plus court costs <br /> of $1, 222. 00. 'Commissioner Winstead then moved that the said S. Ray <br /> Byerly, Special Tax Attorney, be paid commissions on said collections, <br /> the sum of $1, 150. 00, which'amount was in addition to the salary heretofore <br /> received by the said S.
