BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ' • November 7, 1960 • The Board of Commissioners of Lee County met in regular monthly session in the Commissioners' Room in the Courthousebn Monday, November • 7, 1960, with the following members of the Board present for the dispatch of business: Commissioners Sion H. Kelly, Ralph Groce, Evander Winstead, Clyde J. Atkins,' and Percy Measamer. Commissioner Sion H. Kelly, Chairman of the Board, presided and the following business was transacted: The Minutes of the regular meeting'of October 3, 1960, were read and approved. • On motion of Commissioner Atkins, which motion was seconded by Commissioner Measamer, a petition to hard surface the Olive Siding Road was unanimously adopted; E. P. Clark, custodian of the Courthouse, reported upon the condition of all buildings owned-by the County.' On motion of Commissioner Measamer,which motion was seconded by Commissioner Groce, the salary of Mrs. Pauline Perkins, an assistant in the office of the Register of Deeds, was set at $35. 00 per/week. Miss Mary Estelle Doyle, County Home Economics Agent, presented her monthly report. K. S. Harmon, County Farm Agent, presentedlis monthly report. ' • The Board discussed with Warrant Officer T. W. McDonald of the North Carolina National Guard, the condition of the Sanford Armory. No formal action was taken. Mrs. Laura D. Rosser, Supt. of Public Welfare, presented her monthly report. L. L. Beckham, Civil Defense Director, presented his monthly report. • Mrs. Nette B. Keith, Register of Deeds, .presented her monthly report. W. D. Gregson, Veteran's Service Officer, presented the monthly report of the Veteran's Service Office. - D. F. Holder, Sheriff, presented his monthly report. W. H. Campbell, County Tax Collector, reported on taxes collected during the month of October, 1960. Mrs. Louise Dowdy, presented the monthly report of the County Health Department.
