• <br /> MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED REGULAR <br /> MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br /> COMMISSIONERS <br /> 13 July 1961 <br /> The adjourned Regular Meeting of the Board of County Commissioners <br /> convened at 8 o'clock p. m. on the 13th day of July 1961, in the Commissioner <br /> Room at the Lee County Courthouse. Those present were Chairman Clyde J. <br /> Atkins, Commissioners Edward W. Cox, Ralph Groce, Percy Measamer and <br /> Evander C. Winstead. None of the commissioners were absent. Chairman <br /> Clyde J. Atkins presided and the following business was transacted: <br /> Mr. J. Chandler Eakes, Register of Deeds, appeared before the Board <br /> with respect to the tentative proposed appropriation for the operation of <br /> the office of the Register of Deeds. <br /> Mr. Frank Brinn, Chairman of the Board of Veterans Affairs, appeared <br /> before the Board with respect to the appropriation for the office of the Veteran 3 <br /> Service for Lee County for the current fiscal year. <br /> Dr. O. David Garvin, Health Officer, appeared before the Board with <br /> respect to the appropriations for the Health Department for the coming fiscal <br /> year. <br /> Commissioner Evander C. Winstead made a motion that all bids <br /> received for the proposed addition tothe County Courthouse to house the <br /> County Jail be rejected. Commissioner Groce seconded the motion and upon <br /> a roll call vote, the Commissioners voted as follows: <br /> Aye: Cox, Winstead, Measamer, Groce and Atkins <br /> No: None <br /> Commissioner Winstead made a motion that the County Attorney assist <br /> the Sheriff to dispose of the confiscated beer presently held in the Sheriff's <br /> possession, which motion was duly seconded and was unanimously adopted. <br /> Commissioner Winstead made a motion that the meeting be adjourned <br /> until 8 o'clock p. m. on Thursday, the 27th day of July, 1961.
