• <br /> • <br /> BOOK S PACE 17 <br /> MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF LEE <br /> COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> 5 February 1962 <br /> The Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners convened at <br /> 10:00 a. m. on the 5th day of February, 1962, at the Commissioners Room at <br /> the Lee County Courthouse. Those present were Chairman Clyde J. Atkins, <br /> Commissioners Edward W. Cox, Ralph Groce and Evander C. Winstead. <br /> Commissioner Sion H. Kelly was absent when the meeting convened. <br /> Chairman Clyde J. Atkins presided and the following business was <br /> transacted: <br /> The written report of W. D. Gregson, Veteran's Service Officer, on <br /> behalf of the Board of Veteran's Affairs, was presented to the Board. <br /> The written report of D. F. Holder, Sheriff, on the activities of his <br /> office was presented to the Board. <br /> Miss Mary Estelle Doyle, County Home Economist, appeared before <br /> ,J the Board and gave a report on the activities of her office. <br /> ` b <br /> Mr. Ken Harmon, County Agricultural Agent and Mr. Norman Brick- <br /> house, Assistant County Agricultural Agent, appeared before the Board and <br /> f gave a report on the activities of their office. <br /> C ,`,,� fa. Mrs. Laura Rosser, Director, appeared before the Board and gave <br /> i��� a report on the activities of the Depamnent of Public Welfare. <br /> Commissioner Winstead moved the adoption of the following Resolution: <br /> J BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of.Commissioners issioners of <br /> Lee County that the balance of the appropriation for general <br /> assistance be advanced in the following amounts for the <br /> months indicated: <br /> February $ 100. 00 <br /> March S. 50. 00 <br /> April $ 50. 00 <br /> May $ 25. 00 <br /> June $ 25. 00 <br /> Commissioner Cox seconded the motion and upon a vote it was carried <br /> unanimously. Commissioner Sion H. Kelly joined the meeting. <br /> Mr. L. L. Beckham appeared before the Board and gave a report on <br /> the activities of the Civil Defense Department. <br /> After hearing a delegation from the Church of God near Olivia, <br /> Commissioner Winstead moved the adoption of the following resolution with <br /> respect to the road running from the Cameron Road to the Church of God, <br /> being approximately 350 yards in length: <br /> WHEREAS, the attached petition has been filed with the <br /> Board of County Commissioners of the County of Lee requesting <br /> that the above described road, the location of which has been <br /> indicated in red on the attached map, be added to the Secondary <br /> Road system; and <br />
