ES • x. �. ® 9001( 6 PAGE 46 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS 2 July 1962 The Regular Meeting of The Board of Commissioners convened at 10:00 o'clock A. M. on the 2nd day of July, 1962, at the Commissioner's Room at the Lee County Courthouse. Those present were Chairman Clyde J. Atkins, Commissioners Edward W. Cox, Ralph Groce, Sion H. Kelly, and Evander C. Winstead. None of the Commissioners were absent. Chairman Clyde J. Atkins presided and the following business was transacted: • The written report of D. F. Holder, Sheriff, on the activities of his office was presented to the Board. Mr. W. D. Gregson, Veteran's Service Officer, presented to the Board a written report on behalf of the Board of Veteran's Affairs. Miss Mary Estelle Doyle, County Home Economist, appeared before th•-: Board and gave a report on the activities of her office. Mr. Ken Harman, County Agricultural Agent and Mr. Norman Brick- house, Assistant County Agricultural Agent, appeared before the Board and gave a report on the activities of the Agricultural Agent's Office. Mrs. Laura Rosser, Director, appeared before the Board and pre- sented their report on behalf of the Department of Public Welfare. Mrs. Rosser reported that Commissioner Winstead'd term as a member of the Welfare Board had expired. Upon the recommendation of Commissioner Groce, the Board appointed Mr. Joe Lloyd of Jonesboro Township as Superintendent of the County Home and appointed Mrs. Joe Lloyd as Assistant Superintendent of the County Home. k Mr. L. L. Bec,Inam, Director, appeared before the Board and reported on behalf of the Sanford-Lee County Department of Civil Defense. Mrs. Louise Dowdy appeared before the Board and presented a report on behalf of the Health Department. Commissioner Cox moved the adoption of the following Resolution: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF LEE COUNTY AS FOLLOWS: (1) That an order to operate the County and its subdivisions and agencies and departments from July 1, 1962, to the date of the adoption of the 1962-63 budget resolution appropriations are hereby made for the purpose of paying salaries, the principal and interest on indebtedness and the usual ordinary expenses of the County and its subdivisions and agencies at the same rate of expenditures as provided in the budget for the fiscal year 1961-62. (2) This resolution shall cease to be effective from and after the adoption of the 1962-63 budget resolution and all expenditures made in accordance with this resolution shall be charged to the appropriations made in the 1962-63 budget resolution. Commissioner Kelly seconded the motion and upon a roll call vote the Commissioners voted as follows: Aye: Cox, Groce, Atkins, Kelly and Winstead. No: None
