BQOK '. °A;G <br /> MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL <br /> MEETING OF THE LEE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> 29 August 1962 <br /> A Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners called by the <br /> Chairman convened at 1 O'clock p. m. on the 29th day of August, 1962, at <br /> the Commissioners Room at the Lee County Courthouse, the same being the <br /> time and place specified in the call by the Chairman. Those present were <br /> Chairman Clyde J. Atkins, Commissioners Edward W. Cox, Ralph Groce <br /> and Sion Kelly. Commissioner Evander C. Winstead was absent. <br /> After a discussion of the application of Mr. Bill Price, for the position <br /> as Assistant Agricultural Agent, and it appearing to the Commissioners that <br /> Mr. Price had been recommended by the Lee County Agricultural Advisory <br /> Committee and by the Cattlemen's Association of Lee County and by many <br /> others, Commissioner Kelly moved that the Board of Commissioners hire <br /> Mr. Bill Price as the Assistant Agricultural Agent for Lee County, effective <br /> the 1st day of September, 1962, at the salary as set forth in the budget <br /> adopted by the Board. <br /> Commissioner Cox seconded the motion and upon a roll call vote the <br /> Commissioners voted as follows: <br /> Aye: Cox, Groce, Kelly and Atkins <br /> No: None <br /> The Chairman ruled that the motion had been carried unanimously and <br /> dispatched the following communication to implement the employment of Mr. <br /> Price; <br /> "Sanford, North Carolina <br /> August 29, 1962 <br /> Mr. Grover C. Dobbins <br /> District Agricultural Agent <br /> State College Station <br /> Raleigh, North Carolina <br /> Dear Mr. Dobbins: <br /> The Lee County Board of County Commissioners met in a <br /> called meeting today - August 29, 1962, to fill the vacant position <br /> of Assistant Agricultural Agent for Lee County. <br /> We have employed Mr. Bill Price whom you presented to the Board <br /> on August 6, 1962, and request that his employment be effective <br /> September 1, 1962. <br /> Sincerely yours, <br /> /s/ Clyde J.
