, is / <br /> ,---- <br /> MINUTES OF MEETING OF <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> FOR LEE COUNTY <br /> 1 June 1964 <br /> The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for Lee <br /> County convened at 10:15 o'clock a. m. in the Commissioners' Room at the <br /> Lee County Courthouse on Monday, the let day of June, 1964. Those pre- <br /> sent when the meeting was called to order were: Chairman Sion H. Kelly, <br /> Commissioners John E. Dotterer and J. T. Ledwell. Commissioners Edward <br /> W. Cox and Clyde J. Atkins were absent. <br /> Chairman Sion H. Kelly presided and the following business was <br /> transacted: <br /> Miss Mary Estelle Doyle, County Home Expansion Agent, appear- <br /> ed before the Board and gave a report on the 4-H Club County wide demon- <br /> stration projects. She presented a written statistical report on her activities. <br /> Mr. Thomas M. Haislip, County Extension Chairman, appeared <br /> before the Board and reported on activities of his department. Mr. Bill L. <br /> Price, appeared before the Board and reported on 4-H Club activities and on <br /> I. home garden prljects. They presented a written statistical report. <br /> Miss Mary Scott Gurley, Librarian, appeared before the Board <br /> and gave a report on the activities of the County Library during the month of <br /> May. <br /> ;t,o Mr. Paul Lucas, Tax Collector, appeared before the Board and <br /> >` = presented a report on the collections of his office. He was granted authority <br /> -t- f, to conduct tax lien sale on the first Monday in August. <br /> .n\ <br /> ` ' , appeared before the <br /> . , frv; Mr. J. Chandler Bakes, Register of Deeds, <br /> ::;;, Board and presented a written report on the activities of his office. <br /> th,' � Mr. Raymond Ledford, Director of Public Welfare, appeared <br /> a \,...,. before the Board and presented a written report on the activities of the <br /> ' Department of Public Welfare. <br /> I',, �': <br /> ,,4k After hearing the committee's report and reviewing the in- <br /> ti <br /> 3';%4\ formal bids secured, the bid of R. H. Page of Troy, North Carolina, for an <br /> m,4 <br /> oil:valor portrait of Judge Clawson L.
