a u <br /> pry, . pAc,t 333 <br /> MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br /> OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE <br /> 0 <br /> MONDAY, 7 JUNE 1965 <br /> The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee <br /> convened in the Commissioners' Room at the Lee County Courthouse at 10:00 o'clock <br /> A. M. on Monday, the 7th day of June, 1965. Those present were Chairman John E. <br /> Dotterer and Commissioners Sion H. Kelly, J. T. Ledwell, Max McLeod, and <br /> Charles Robert Yow. None of the Commissioners were absent. <br /> Chairman John E. Dotterer presided and the following business was <br /> transacted: <br /> The invocation was given by Reverend Edwin A. Bell of Sanford. <br /> Dr. J. H. Byerly, Coroner, appeared before the Board and requested <br /> that Lee County be included in the state wide act presently pending in the General <br /> Assembly to abolish the office of Coroner in view of the fact that Lee County now <br /> has a Medical Examiner. Upon motion of Commissioner McLeod, duly seconded, <br /> and unanimously adopted, the Board resolved to seek inclusion in such act. <br /> The Chairman called the Board's attention to Senate Bill No. 548 known <br /> as the Allsbrook Bill which relates to allocation of funds to the Health Department <br /> and Senate Bill 427 known as the Dolley Bill which relates to allocation of franchise <br /> taxes on utilities.,• After discussion the Board unanimously resolved to urge the <br /> passage of these acts by the General Assembly. <br /> The members of the Lee County Board of Public Welfare met with the <br /> Board and went over the budget for the coming fiscal year. After review and dis- <br /> cussion, Commissioner Kelly moved that the budget for the Welfare Department be <br /> approved. Commissioner McLeod seconded the motion and upon a roll call vote it <br /> was unanimously adopted as follows: <br /> Aye: Kelly, Ledwell, McLeod, Yow and Dotterer <br /> No: None <br /> After discussion of the current budget for the Welfare Department, <br /> Commissioner Kelly moved the adoption of the following: <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> FOR LEE COUNTY that the sum of $800.00 is hereby approp- <br /> riated from the unappropriated surplus in the Poor Fund to the <br /> Boarding Home Care Fund. <br /> Commissioner Ledwell seconded the motion and upon a roll call vote it <br /> was unanimously adopted as follows: <br /> Aye: Kelly, Ledwell, McLeod, Yow and Dotterer <br /> No: None <br />
