EDAY . 6 EPT.t, :c iaR L966 asassasasasasaosaossesssososassoass The Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners for Lee County, North Carolina, convened at 10 o'clock a. in. , on Tuesday, September 6, 1966, in the CoeIfrnissioners' Room, in the Lee County Courthouse. Those present were Chairman John L. .Dotterer and Conur4ssioners ,alas McLeod and Charles Robert Vow. Conuniasioners Sion H. Kelly and J. T. Ledwell were absent. Chairman John i . Dotterer presided and the following business was transacted: Chairman Dotterer read the report of the Grand Jury with respect to protecting the light switches in the cell area of the jail. Mr. Hugh Brewer, Super- intendent of the Building, was instructed by the Board to make the necessary repairs to comply with the Grand Jury Report. The report of Mr. J. Chandler takes. the Register of Leeds, was pre- sented to the Board. The report of Mr. D. l . Holder, Sheriff of Lee County, was presented to the Board. The Clerk read to the Board the letter received from the Local Govern- ment Employees Association, to the effect that Mrs. Carrie Bain, Court Reporter, was ineligible to participate in the Lee County plan. The Clerk also reported that no further report had been received about the Hospital employees. Commissioner Sion H. Kelly Joined the meeting and participated in the further deliberations of the Board. The minutes of the meeting held on August let, 1966, were approved and ordered recorded. Commissioner Kelly moved the adoption of the following resolution with respect to the Angel Road off Secondary Road 1383, in Pocket Township: WHEREAS, the attached petition has been filed with the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Lee requesting that the above described road, the location of which has been indicated in red on the attached map, be added to the Secondary Road System; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Centailasionors is of the opinion that the above described road should be added to the Secondary Road System, if the road meets minimum standards and criteria established by the State Hi ay Commission for the addition of roads to the System.
