Vol <br />6COK 7 PAGE42 76 <br />MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED REGULAR <br />MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS FOR LEE COUNTY, <br />NORTH CAROLINA <br />Wednesday, August 7th, 1968 <br />The adjourned regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for <br />Lee County, convened in the Commissioners" Room at the Lee County Courthouse <br />at 7:30 o'clock p. m., eastern standard time on Wednesday, August 7th, 1968, <br />the same being the time, date and place specified in the motion for adjournment. <br />Those present were Vice-Chairman Charles Robert Yow, Commissioners Max <br />McLeod and Franklin D. Wicker. Chairman John E. Dotterer and Commissioner <br />A. E. White were absent. <br />Vice-Chairman Charles Robert Yow presided and the following business <br />was transacted: <br />Mr. Bob Harris, Manager of the City of Sanford, appeared before the <br />Board relative to the Northview Water Line. A general discussion about the line <br />was held but no formal action was taken. <br />Commissioner McLeod presented a petition relative to the addition of the <br />Sloan Road to the State Maintained Secondary Road System. After discussion, <br />Commissioner McLeod moved the adoption of the following resolution: <br />WHEREAS, the attached petition has been filed with the <br />Board of County Commissioners of the County of Lee requesting <br />that the above described road, the location of which has been <br />indicated in red on the attached map, be added to the Secondary <br />Road system; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is of the <br />opinion that the above described road should be added to the <br />Secondary Road System, if the road meets minimum standards <br />and criteria established by the State Highway Commission for <br />the addition of roads to the System. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of <br />County Commissioners of the County of Lee that the State <br />Highway Commission is hereby requested to review the <br />above described road, and to take over the road for main- <br />tenance if it meets established standards and criteria. <br />Commissioner Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote it was <br />unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner McLeod presented a petition relative to the <br />addition of Lord Ashley Drive to the State Maintained Secondary Road System. After <br />discussion, Commissioner McLeod moved the adoption of the following resolution: <br />
