BOOK 7 PAGE324 <br />N <br />MINUTES OF ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR LEE COUNTY, <br />NORTH CAROLINA <br />~`mmT##r~;c=Fx:#*###>k###=KB:=kM####~':~':~':>k~>k*vr ',"r ~r##>k ~<%k >k#####~: dF ~:=k## <br />MONDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 1969 <br />The adjourned regular meeting of the Board of Commissioner for the <br />County of Lee convened in the Commissioner's Room at the Lee County Courthouse <br />at 10:00 o'clock A. M. on Monday, February 17, 1969 in accordance with the <br />resolution of adjournment. Those present were Chairman John E. Dotterer and <br />Commissioners W. B. Joyce,. A. E. White, F. D.. Wicker and G. A. Wicker. None <br />of the Commissioners was absent. <br />Chairman John E. Dotterer presided and the following business was <br />transacted: <br />Mr. Albert Cox, President of L.. P. Cox Company met with the Board of <br />Commissioners and reviewed the architect's drawing of alternate renovations of <br />courtroom space. After much discussion, it wasc!decided Mr. Cox would consult <br />with Mr. Hayes and present a final plan and statement of cost for the courtroom <br />renovations. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved the adoption of the following <br />resolutiomi <br />WHEREAS, Raymond Ledford has served as the Director of the <br />Department of Public Welfare of Lee County for years; and whereas, as <br />a result of his astute guidance and wise counseling that department has administered <br />its program in an efficient manner; and whereas, his efforts as director in behalf <br />of the welfare program is an exemplary record of dedicated public service to which <br />all Lee County can point with pride; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners <br />of Lee County: <br />Section 1. The Board of Commissioners of Lee County does hereby <br />express its profound appreciation and commend Raymond Ledford, Director, <br />Department of Public Welfare of Lee County for his devoted and outstanding service <br />to the people of Lee County. The Board of Commissioners of Lee County does <br />further wish for this gentlemen many more years of active service for the people <br />of this state in his chosen field. <br />Section 2. This resolution shall become a part of the public records of <br />this meeting and a copy shall be duly certified by the clerk and transmitted to Mr. <br />Ledford. <br />Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote it <br />was unanimously adopted. <br />Chairman Dotterer advised the Board he had received a letter from Mrs. <br />Mary Browning Love, President of the Lee County Unit Classroom Teachers, express- <br />ing appreciation for the action of the Board in providing teacher supplements. <br />
