CD <br />VOK ; PACE 339 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE <br />Monday, May 5th, 1969 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners <br />for the County of Lee, convened at 9:00 o'clock A. M., in the <br />Commissioner's Room at the County Office Building at the cor- <br />ner of Steele and Wicker Streets in the City of Sanford. <br />Those present were Chairman John E. Dotterer, Commissioners <br />William B. Joyce, Aubrey E. White, Franklin D. Wicker and <br />Gordon A. Wicker. <br />Chairman John E. Dotterer presided and the follow- <br />ing business was transacted: <br />The minutes of the regular meeting held on April 8, <br />1969, were corrected and ordered recorded. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved the Board request <br />the State Highway Commission to investigate the traffic conditions <br />near Shallow Well Christian Church and take appropriate action to <br />improve safety and warning devices. Commissioner Franklin D. <br />Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote, it was unanimously <br />adopted. <br />The monthly statements of accounts as tabulated by <br />the County Accountant were approved for payment upon motion of <br />Commissioner Aubrey E. White, seconded by Commissioner Gordon <br />A. Wicker, and unanimously adopted upon a vote. <br />The Board of Commissioners was advised of notification <br />by the North Carolina Department of Conservation and Development, <br />that a Federal Urban Planning Assistance Grant had been approved <br />for the County of Lee, and a proposed contract, designated County <br />Contract No. N. C. P-99, between the County and the North Carolina <br />Department of Conservation and Development for the provision of <br />planning services was presented and discussed; that under the <br />terms of the said contract, the County will pay a total of <br />$3,900.00, as its share of the planning costs, the same being due <br />in two payments, the first payment of $1,950.00, to be due thirty <br />(30) days after execution of the contract, and the balance of <br />$1,950.00, to be due September 1, 1969. <br />Commissioner William B. Joyce introduced the follow- <br />ing resolution, which was read: <br />BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board <br />of Commissioners for the County of Lee: <br />1. That the contract between <br />the County of Lee and the North Carolina Depart- <br />ment of Conservation and Development be and the <br />same is hereby approved. <br />2. That the Chairman and the <br />Clerk be and they are hereby authorized to <br />sign and execute the said contract for and on <br />behalf of the County of Lee and forward the <br />same to the North Carolina Department of Con- <br />servation and Development. <br />
